After a handful of directors turned down the chance to direct Ant-Man, Marvel found its director in Peyton Reed. As far as the film world is concerned, Peyton’s projects are uninspiring, including movies like Bring It On, The Break-Up, and Yes Man. To go from the man who created the Cornetto trilogy to someone with this resume is a bit of a disappointment to say the least. As far as television goes, Reed has directed some great stuff, including episodes of the Upright Citizens Brigade, The Weird Al Show, and a few episodes of New Girl. My hope is that the vibe of shows like these will have more bearing on the overall tone of the film. This coupled with a script that will have input from Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers), we might actually have some hope for this movie.
