Edgar Wright has left ‘Ant-Man’

It what  can only be described as extremely disappointing news, Edgar Wright has left Ant-Man due to ‘creative differences.’  I trust Marvel (most of the time), and I forgave Iron Man 2, but as far as I’m concerned, the man responsible for Shaun of the DeadHot FuzzScott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The World’s End is one that should be trusted in regards to creativity. I’m bummed. That’s the only way to put it. Wright was actually passionate about the character, and that can make for a much more meaningful film, but alas, it won’t happen.

Here’s what Marvel had to say:

“Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on Ant-Man due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”

A couple of months ago it was announced that filming would be pushed back from May to mid-July. There were speculations as to why they would delay, and it seems as though this is the reason.
